About the Woods, Gaffney, Diggins and Marshall families
My maiden name is Hackathorn and my dad told me we had relatives buried in Ohio. I believe my Grandpa’s name was Darwin Dinwitty Hackathorn. Would love to find other of my family members. We have some relatives here in Kansas too that we have lost contact with since my Dad passed

Hi, Charlene. Please forgive me for being so tardy to answer your comment. I do not have Darwin in my database. I did, however, do a bit of researching. We share the same immigrant ancestor, Reinhard Jacob Heckendorn, but your line is a different one than mine. I believe you are descended from George Hackathorn, son of Johan Jacob Heckendorn. If you haven’t already, you might want to read this blog posting about Reinhard: https://relativityitsallrelative.com/2015/01/27/52-ancestors-4-reinhard-jacob-heckendorn-they-say-its-your-birthday/
Also, if you’re looking for ancestors buried in Ohio, you should center your initial research around Grandview in Washington County, Ohio. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
